And why that matters more than you might think.
If you’ve done traditional talk therapy, you probably know this feeling: you leave sessions feeling heard, validated, and maybe even have a few lightbulb moments. Insight grows. You understand your patterns. You talk through what’s hard.
But weeks - or even months...years - go by, and your actual life hasn’t changed much. You still feel anxious in the mornings. You still snap at your kids. You still freeze in situations that shouldn’t be so overwhelming.
It’s not that talk therapy isn’t helpful - it’s just that most therapy helps us cope better with our problems. I aim a whole lot higher than that.
In an ideal world? I want to see that most of those problems are just gone. Or at the very least, drastically improved.
Because here’s the truth: the vast majority of concerns that bring people into therapy - anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, chronic shame, shutdown, reactivity, trauma symptoms, even many chronic health issues - have their roots in a dysregulated nervous system. And you can’t talk your way into (or out of) regulation.
But you can shift your physiology - and you can begin to do it right away.
When we work directly with your nervous system, you may notice that many of the things that used to feel hard just… stop being hard. And often, multiple issues resolve at the same time. Not because we’re tackling each one individually, but because we’re finally addressing the underlying cause.
In my work, I blend cutting-edge nervous system approaches that work with your biology - not against it.
🌀 Brainspotting: This is a powerful modality that helps us access and resolve the deeper, stuck emotional material that talking often can’t reach. We don’t need to rehash your past. In fact, you can say very little. Brainspotting helps your system process the overwhelm and complete what’s been unfinished—often with surprisingly rapid shifts.
🧠 EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)EMDR can be incredibly effective for trauma, anxiety, and disturbing memories. It helps your brain reprocess stuck material so that what used to feel intense becomes emotionally neutral. I often blend EMDR principles with other modalities to create a customized, more embodied experience—especially for highly sensitive or complex clients.
🌱 Somatic Experiencing®: Trauma often lives in the body, not just in our thoughts. SE gently helps you reconnect with your body’s natural rhythm, releasing old survival energy and restoring a sense of safety, capacity, and ease.
🧩 Parts Work (IFS-informed): So many of us carry protective parts that learned to keep us safe in childhood, but now cause conflict, anxiety, or shame. I help you gently get to know and build a relationship with these parts so they can soften, shift, and finally exhale.
🎧 Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) and Rest & Restore Protocol (RRP): These are powerful tools based in polyvagal theory that support your system in feeling safer and more regulated. Think of them as deeply restorative, physiological “rewiring” processes that make everything else more effective—without having to relive your past.
What I offer isn’t just therapy. It’s nervous system healing. And when we work this way, your system often does what it’s always longed to do: move toward healing.
You don’t have to work so hard to cope when the problems themselves start to fade.
If you’re looking for a space that’s gentle, deep, and designed to create real and lasting change—not just insight—I’d love to hear from you.
